I am a seasoned Creative Director, Copywriter and Content Creator who is passionate about distilling complex business problems into creative solutions. I excel at collaborating with smart, talented people to get to the heart of what makes a brand unique and compelling, communicating that message to consumers and engaging them in meaningful conversation through engaging experiences (websites, games, content, social, etc).

 

Some of the clients I've worked with you may be familiar with include: American Express, AT&T Broadband, BJ's Wholesale, ESPN, FedEx, HBO, Johnson & Johnson, General Motors, LL Bean, Pretzel Crisps, Safeway, Sperry Top-Sider. I've also worked with many smaller brands from scratch - everything from naming companies to brand positioning, logo development, websites, teaching them how to "tweet," helping them get their products into Whole Foods - you name it. 

 

Range of Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Creative Director/Client Lead on AOR Digital Relationship with Safeway for 5 years at my agency, Rival - included robust recipe and entertaining websites, dozens of digital advertising campaigns, online games and recipe development

  • Founder of Rival Marketing in 2004. Creative Director and Copywriter on all Rival projects (digital marketing, websites, brand identity, video shoots in our kitchen studio, photo shoots, package design, print ads, editorial spreads, social media strategy and implementation). Closed agency in 2016. Currently consulting.

  • Creator of how2heroes.com, a how-to video cooking website launched in 2008. Developed concept, created complex website with team of designers and developers, directed over 3,000 videos, developed all marketing materials and weekly newsletter, conducted social media and hosted educational cooking events with top chefs. Over 8 million views on YouTube Channel.

  • Blogger for Safeway Summer Grilling, A.G. Ferrari, how2heroes.com

  • Content Development (articles, videos, interactive content) for National Geographic Channel, Safeway, BJ's Wholesale, ESPN, Breaking Matzo, Pretzel Crisps, DePuy (a johnson & johnson co.), how2heroes.com

  • Recipe Development for Pretzel Crisps, BJ's Wholesale, Safeway, Breaking Matzo

  • Social Media Strategy: for A.G. Ferrari Italian specialty food brand, Shy Brothers Farm, Breaking Matzo, Massachusetts Cheese Guild, how2heroes, Nussli 118 Vegan/Raw Snacks

  • Creative Director and Writer for AT&T Broadband AOR Relationship at now defunct BaseSix. CD on National Geographic Channel, ESPN and HBO projects. Built digital marketing capabilities at this agency which was a web design shop when I joined.

  • Pioneer Digital Copywriter at Strategic Interactive Group (before it was Digitas). 1 of 3 writers working with countless clients including AmEx, FedEx, LL Bean and Fidelity. Returned to Digitas later as an ACD working on GM.
